Cambridge-Approved: 3 Must-Read Business Books
Hello everyone, Scott here, the founder and CEO of Pillow Partners! Recently, Pillow Partners was fortunate enough to be selected for a scale up program between Barclays Eagle Labs, the entrepreneurial part of the bank, and Cambridge Business School. They have been providing some excellent mentorship and guidance and last week, a Cambridge Business Professor recommended three business books that every entrepreneur and business owner should read. I am now going to reveal these books to you!
‘Blue Ocean Strategy’ by W. Chan Kim & Renée Mauborgne

Another bestselling business book, Blue Ocean Strategy advises on how to create “uncontested market space and make the competition irrelevant”. By utilising the tools this book presents, any entrepreneur or business owner can learn to create their own untapped new market spaces instead of battling competitors for smaller profits.
‘The Innovator’s Dilemma’ by Clayton M. Christensen

Originally published in 1997, this book is just as relevant now as it was then. Considered a classic, it’s one of the most influential business books of all time. Christensen explains how even the most successful companies can still fail due to innovation and new technology. He offers a guide on how to ‘beat’ this and capitalise on the phenomenon that is ‘disruptive innovation’. This is an absolute must read for any entrepreneur, business owner or leader out there!
‘Thinking, Fast and Slow’ by Daniel Kahneman

This is a really interesting book by Kahneman about psychology and how the brain works to make both fast and slow decisions. I have already listened to the audiobook of this many times and can attest to its usefulness. The knowledge and strategies that you can learn from this book can easily be put into effect because if you can understand how your customers think and understand the processes that go into their decision making, it’s invaluable.
So, if you’re an entrepreneur or a business owner then these books that are all about positioning and market strategy, are an absolute MUST for you!
Now, I also have a couple of bonus books for you that were recommended later on in the week which I will be revealing in this week’s newsletter! These two books focus on a company’s culture and how to create idea generating, problem solving, successful teams!
If you’re interested in reading the best business books there are, then you don’t want to miss out on these! Sign up to our newsletter today and everything will be revealed to you this Friday!
